Purpose / Highlights of the role
As a member of the Global Technology Partnerships team, the Sr. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Project Lead will partner globally to deliver technologies aligned with needs of Boston Scientific (BSC) divisions and functions. They will support program and project management activities with internal and external collaborations focused on early-stage AI/machine learning initiatives with potential impact ranging from improving operational efficiency to developing breakthrough medical therapies. This person will help grow BSC’s AI capabilities, capture AI project management best practices, and work with teams on business case development.
Responsibilities
- Manage AI exploratory projects with the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab and with BSC project teams that align with business strategies across different divisions and functions
- Work with exploratory teams to prepare data, plan model development experiments, develop business cases, and assess implementation/transfer
- Manage expectations and scope across internal and external project team members
- Assist in developing metrics and achieving milestones to improve our products and solutions
- Identify and translate customer or business needs into technical requirements, engaging stakeholders as needed.
- Coordinate, manage and document project schedules, goals, risks, and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships at multiple levels of the organization.
- Predict and resolve ambiguities, remove bottlenecks and balance customer needs vs. technical constraints
- Drive communication and lead meetings with customers and executives
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related work experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years of related work experience in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
- Experience managing technical projects from ideation through initial production implementation leveraging agile development methods
- Data literate, ability to educate stakeholders about different AI technologies and provide guidance on teams’ data needs to meet project objectives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams or individuals
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with team members and external partners
- Ability to work independently to plan and schedule activities necessary to meet timelines
Preferred Requirements
- Experience managing the design and implementation of an AI/ML product in a production system
- Experience with user-centered design and voice of customer activities
- Ability to influence others and build a network of positive relationships, connecting people to people, people to knowledge, and people to data
- Comfortable with guiding solution infrastructure, data security/privacy, and architectural discussions with technical team members
- Understanding and application of current digital technology design, build, and operations capabilities and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Passionate about artificial intelligence and the discovering the value it can bring to the medical device industry
