Takashi Ando

Principal Research Scientist

Takashi Ando is a principal research staff member with IBM T. J. Watson Research Center and a senior member at IEEE. He leads the development of new analog memories for neuromorphic computing and, in addition, drives the collaborations with universities in the area of physics of AI.

He received the BS and ME degrees from the University of Tokyo in 1999 and 2001, and a PhD degree from Osaka University in 2010. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, refereed conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is a recipient of the Japan Society of Applied Physics Young Scientist Award in 2011 and the IEEE EDS George E. Smith Award in 2013.
