Yossi Sheffi

Elisha Gray II Professor of Engineering Systems, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Institute of Data Science and Society

Yossi Sheffi is the Elisha Gray II Professor of Engineering Systems at MIT with appointments in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Institute of Data Science and Society. He also directs the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. Sheffi’s research focuses on transportation and logistics systems analysis, decision support systems for network optimizations with application to logistics management and carrier operations, supply chain management, risk management and resilience, and logistics clusters. He has has consulted with leading enterprises and founded or co-founded five successful companies; additionally, Sheffi has authored several management and text books. He obtained his BSc from the Technion in Israel and his SM and PhD from MIT.
