Research Staff Member

Farzaneh Mirzazadeh is a Research Staff Member in the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, in Cambridge, MA. She is currently excited about research on generative models. She has worked in several areas of machine learning including representation learning, multi-modal and graph embedding, computational optimal transport, structured prediction and natural language processing. Her research is published in top machine learning conferences such as ICLR, NeurIPS, and AAAI.

Before this, she was a postdoc at the same lab, collaborating with MIT professors such Professor Justin Solomon and Professor Tommi Jaakkola. She received her PhD from the CS department of University of Alberta in Canada. Her PhD thesis has focused on solving association problems with convex co-embedding, advised by Professor Dale Schuurmans (a AAAI fellow) and is nominated for the outstanding PhD dissertation award. She is the recipient of several prestigious scholarships and awards including University of Alberta’s president’s doctoral prize of distinction and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) from the government of Canada.
